Peer Specialist- Crisis (61488)

Job Summary

This position is classified as Non-Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is eligible for overtime pay. At Diversus Health, you have the opportunity to contribute to changing lives and communities by joining our diverse and inclusive team as a Peer Support Specialist.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to changing lives and communities by providing peer-to-peer support and education.
• Maintain current knowledge and information on community resources.
• Assist in the completion of consumer forms and training clients.
• Connect with marginalized populations to provide support and connect individuals to needed treatment.
• Alert team of potential crisis interventions as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to complete NAMI's Peer Provider training program within 90 days of hire.
• Mental Health First Aid Training completed within 60 days of hire.
• Clean driving record.
• Parent of a child with a similar mental illness and/or substance use disorder, or an adult with an ongoing and/or personal experience with a family member with a similar mental illness and/or substance use disorder, or self-identified individual in recovery from mental illness and/or substance use.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Suite.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to develop professional working relationships with partner agencies.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain personal wellness and recovery tool.
