Peer Mentor-CRSS Drop In Center

About the role

Envision Unlimited is hiring a Peer Mentor – CRSS to support individuals in our mental health residential programs at our Drop In Center located at 9648 S Pulaski Rd., Oak Lawn, IL 60453.

Responsibilities

• Engage and support clients in the ACT Program
• Share personal recovery experiences
• Lead group discussions and assist with treatment planning
• Support recreational activities and Drop-in Center events
• Provide peer counseling and help develop crisis/medication plans

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Lived experience with mental health and/or addiction recovery
• Strong communication and public speaking skills
• Able to drive or utilize public transportation to multiple locations
• Pass a background check
• CRSS preferred; must be willing to obtain certification within one year
• Preference given to Certified Recovery Support Specialists
• Must be willing and able to secure certification within one year of employment if not already a CRSS
