About the role

This is a 5 day/week posting with occasional weekend and holiday call. The position involves working alongside three experienced urologists in a welcoming urban community.

Responsibilities

  • Functions as an independent healthcare provider in the outpatient and occasionally inpatient setting.
  • Provides urologic care to both healthy and ill patients.
  • Assesses, diagnoses, treats, manages, educates, promotes health and coordinates care for patients and families.
  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary health team.
  • Communicates effectively with patients and families, incorporating gender, age, culture, race, religion, disabilities and sexual orientation.
  • Performs bedside procedures as outlined in practice agreements/scope of practice.

Requirements

  • Active hospital privileges.
  • Acute care certification for NPs.
  • Comprehensive or episodic health history and physical assessment of patients.
  • Orders appropriate diagnostic studies and interprets results.
  • Maintains accurate, complete, concise and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Works effectively with multidisciplinary team members.
  • Communicates effectively with referring health care providers.
  • Performs bedside procedures as outlined in practice agreements/scope of practice.

Qualifications

  • Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP).
  • Experience in urology.
  • Knowledge of etiologies, risk factors, pathophysiology, presentation and epidemiology of urologic conditions.
  • Proficiency in procedural skills pertinent to practice area.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Professionalism and accountability.
