About the role
This advanced practice practitioner position is a hybrid role including both inpatient and outpatient coverage, offering a varied patient population. The role has no nighttime call or weekend responsibilities and includes opportunities for involvement in clinical research and quality improvement projects.
Responsibilities
- Outpatient responsibilities include managing a clinic template with a focus on long-term care of patients with enteral tube feeding (e.g., gastrostomy tube, gastrojejunostomy tube) and general gastroenterology conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux disease, constipation, abdominal pain, failure to thrive, and milk protein intolerance.
- Collaborate with inpatient APPs to ensure excellent hospital follow-up for patients needing gastroenterology services.
- Inpatient responsibilities include evaluating and managing hospitalized patients in collaboration with gastroenterology attending physicians, primarily providing consultation services to other teams (general pediatrics, PICU, Cardiology, NICU, hematology/oncology) and occasionally managing primary patients.
Requirements
- Current licensure as an advanced practice provider in North Carolina or eligibility for licensure.
- Experience in pediatric gastroenterology, particularly with enteral tube feeding management, is strongly preferred.
- Commitment to team-based care, teaching, and participation in quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited advanced practice provider program.
- Board certification or eligibility in the appropriate advanced practice specialty.
- Experience working in a pediatric subspecialty setting is desirable.

Pay
Base compensation in the range of $47.50 – $71.25 per hour, based on factors such as qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and training.
