Pediatrics with MH Franklin Hospital, Farmington, ME
Pediatric or IM-Peds Residents at the PGY2 or above level
To Provide the GME learner with a general rural pediatric medicine experience in a multi-physician and nurse practitioner combination primary care practice and newborn/pediatric hospital settings.
The outpatient office is part of a Rural Health Clinic. Four pediatrician and two pediatric nurse practitioner outpatient practice. Pediatricians also manage newborns, general pediatric inpatients, pediatric consults, and newborn resuscitations.
- Participate in inpatient rounding of newborn and pediatric patients.
- Experience pediatric call including night or weekend call
- Experience walk-in clinic where first 1-2 hours of morning functions as urgent care clinic for patients in the practice.
On-site housing is offered at no cost to the learner at the Dixon House, when space is available. If space is not available at the Dixon House, then the resident may request funds from MERGE to reimburse for housing in Farmington, per the MERGE housing policy.

Experience pediatric procedures including newborn circumcision, outpatient wart cryotherapy, incision and drainage, etc.
Experience walk-in clinic where first 1-2 hours of morning functions as urgent care clinic for patients in the practice.
