Pediatric Team Lead Pharmacist
About the role
We are seeking a pharmacist who is passionate about providing comprehensive, value-based medication care to enhance patients' quality of life. This role involves collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective medication use, processing and dispensing medications, monitoring medication therapy, complying with regulations, overseeing pharmacist extenders, securing medications, and protecting patient confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and effectiveness of the medication use process
- Process and dispense medications per order or prescription
- Medication therapy monitoring
- Regulatory compliance
- Maintain oversight over pharmacist extenders
- Maintain the security of medications
- Protect the confidentiality of patient information
- Provide drug information support for healthcare personnel
- Avoid and anticipate potential issues in common and less common situations
- Coordinate the workflow of the department
- Collect and analyze data for process improvement projects
- Serve as a project lead on major projects affecting pharmacy
- Aid in the training and coaching of team members
- Regularly serve as a resource for colleagues
- Interact with healthcare professionals on drug utilization and cost containment
Requirements
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor's of Science in Pharmacy prior to 2006
- Current Indiana License or eligibility for Indiana licensure as a pharmacist
- Certification is required, if applicable (e.g. BCPS)
- More than 5 years of experience, pharmacy residency training, or advanced degree required
- Demonstrates leadership attributes

Skills
Mastering medication information support, continuity of care, and anticipation of potential issues in various scenarios. Ability to coordinate workflow, collect and analyze data for process improvement, serve as a project lead, train and coach team members, and interact with healthcare professionals on drug utilization and cost containment.
