About the Role

Join a private, physician-owned specialty practice offering a highly desirable 4-day work week (5-day track available for those choosing to maximize earning potential). This role features a tiered incentives program yielding 35% of any additional productivity over your base salary, paid as an end-of-year bonus starting in Year 1. The practice is equipped with a specialized ecosystem, including dedicated pediatric lobbies, specialized pediatric exam lanes, and advanced diagnostic testing zones.

Deliver elite diagnostic, medical, and surgical interventions covering general pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus cases. Participate in cutting-edge Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) screenings and treatments based on clinical interest, with current coverage across two major regional NICUs. Work alongside a fully trained clinical support team of ophthalmic technicians, scribes, and patient coordinators to streamline outpatient workflow.

Anticipate an active clinical pace of 25 to 40 patients per day. Open to both seasoned specialists and incoming fellows/new graduates.

Schedule

Enjoy an elite 4-day work week with core daytime clinic shifts running 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Experience a sustainable call footprint with nights and weekends divided equally across a pool of 14 active MDs, averaging just 3 weeknights per rotation alongside shared weekend shifts.

Requirements

• Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited program.
• Successful completion of an accredited Fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) by the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO).
• Active medical license in the State of Virginia (or immediate eligibility to obtain via endorsement).
• Strong focus on pediatric eye care and adult strabismus management; comfort or active interest in ROP screenings is a major plus.
