Pediatric Ophthalmologist

About the role

The Division of Ophthalmology at Nemours Children's Hospital, Delaware in Wilmington, is actively recruiting a fellowship-trained BC/BE pediatric ophthalmologist.

Responsibilities

• Participation in daily clinical activities, including outpatient visits, surgery, and hospital consultation.
• Diverse exposure to all areas of pediatric ophthalmology.
• Active participation in the education and training of ophthalmology residents and medical students from Thomas Jefferson University.
• Academic appointment awarded by Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University based on established professorial guidelines.

Requirements

• Experience in all aspects of general pediatric ophthalmology.
• Comprehensive diagnostic testing capabilities.
• Challenging practice ranging from common pediatric ophthalmology problems to care of ophthalmologic problems in children with complex medical problems.
• Diagnostic capabilities including OCT, ERG & VEP.
• Experienced group of pediatric ophthalmologists and exposure to all aspects of pediatric ophthalmology.
• Opportunity for research and collaboration with other Pediatric subspecialists, the University of Delaware and other academic institutions.
• National and region-wide referral of patients.
• Affiliation to major academic centers in the tristate area.
• Opportunity to train the ophthalmology residents and medical students throughout the academic year.

Qualifications

• Fellowship-trained BC/BE pediatric ophthalmologist.
• Board certification in ophthalmology.
• Experience in anterior and posterior segment surgery.
• Experience with comprehensive diagnostic testing.
• Experience in managing pediatric ophthalmology cases.
• Experience in teaching and training ophthalmology residents and medical students.
