About the Role
Nemours Children’s Health is seeking a Full Time BC/BE Pediatric Ophthalmologist to join our new team in Viera, FL. This is an exciting opportunity to help expand a comprehensive pediatric ophthalmology practice in Central Florida. Academic appointment(s) with the University of Central Florida Medical School are available for qualified applicants. This position provides outstanding clinical and research opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to medical education.
- Develop and implement evidence-based care models and outcomes to ensure high-quality, cost-effective healthcare using quality measures and performance improvement.
- Work with a population that has economic, health, and educational disparities, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and an appreciation for improving the health of underserved communities.
- Engage in scholarly activity, including recent scholarly publications, participation in specialty society organizations, peer-reviewed research funding, and involvement with national or regional professional societies (preferred but not required).
Requirements
- Board certified or Board eligible by the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO); the alternative pathway for board certification is accepted.
- Possess or be eligible for an unrestricted Florida medical license.
- Qualified to hold a faculty appointment in the Department of Pediatric Surgery and an appointment to the Medical Staff of Nemours Children’s Hospital, Orlando, FL.
About Nemours Children’s Health, Viera
Nemours Children’s Health is expanding pediatric services on Florida’s Space Coast with a new outpatient practice and multispecialty care location in Viera. The 34,000-square-foot facility on a 55-acre site will serve as a regional hub for pediatric specialty and therapeutic services, located less than 35 miles from Nemours Children’s Hospital in Orlando.
Services at this location include plastic surgery, nephrology, rheumatology, radiology, cardiology, gastroenterology, neurology, orthopedics, pulmonology, urology, primary care, urgent care, and more. This expansion reflects our investment in Whole Child Health, access to care, and long-term growth in Central Florida.
