About the role

Full-Time position with hours Monday-Friday, typically between 8a-4p (3 days in Islandia, 2 days in local districts following their calendar).

Pay

Full-Time salary range: $63,000-$68,000. Rates are determined by the service provided, professional experience, and license/certifications held. The position may also be offered as fee-for-service (FFS) depending on the current caseload, which will be discussed during the interview.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement creative individual and/or group therapeutic interventions for your caseload.
  • Administer and write up occupational therapy evaluations.
  • Ongoing communication and collaboration with Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA) and Special Educators, specifically related to overall fine motor, visual motor, and sensory needs.
  • Ongoing communication with lead supervisors & coordinators, specifically related to case management.
  • Utilize students’ behavior management strategies and behavior intervention plans during sessions.
  • Maintain professionalism with families, school districts, and other professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely attendance and billing logs.
  • Create and maintain schedule.
  • Collect data on each IFSP/IEP goal and report on progress quarterly.
  • Provide input and attend/teleconference initial CPSE/CSE meetings and/or annual reviews.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited university with a degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current New York State Occupational Therapy License or Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant Licensure.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working in a setting focusing on supporting children and their families.
  • Experience working with students with autism preferred.
  • Bilingual is a plus.
