Status: Part Time
Hours: Monday-Friday, typically between 8a-4p (3 days in Islandia, 2 days in local districts following their calendar)
Pay
Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) part-time, hourly rates between $28-$33. Rates are determined by the service provided, professional experience, and license/certifications held. The position may be either full-time or fee-for-service (FFS), depending on the current caseload, which will be discussed during the interview.

Responsibilities
- Design and implement creative individual and/or group therapeutic interventions for your caseload.
- Administer and write up occupational therapy evaluations.
- Ongoing communication and collaboration with Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA) and Special Educators, specifically related to overall fine motor, visual motor, and sensory needs.
- Ongoing communication with lead supervisors & coordinators, specifically related to case management.
- Utilize students’ behavior management strategies and behavior intervention plans during sessions.
- Maintain professionalism with families, school districts, and other professionals.
- Maintain accurate and timely attendance and billing logs.
- Create and maintain schedule.
- Collect data on each IFSP/IEP goal and report on progress quarterly.
- Provide input and attend/teleconference initial CPSE/CSE meetings and/or annual reviews.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited university with a degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Current New York State Occupational Therapy License or Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant Licensure.
- Minimum of 1 year experience working in a setting focusing on supporting children and their families.
- Experience working with students with autism preferred.
- Bilingual is a plus.
