Pediatric Intermediate Care Nurse Practitioner/PA, Per Diem

About the Role

A Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) is sought to serve on the inpatient Pediatric Intermediate Care Unit (PIMCU), acting as the primary provider to deliver safe, high-quality clinical care for infants, children, and adolescents with acute or chronic conditions requiring intensive support outside the ICU.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive clinical care, including patient assessments, history taking, physical examinations, and diagnosis.
• Collaborate with supervising physicians and interdisciplinary teams during medical rounds.
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans.
• Participate in quality improvement and research initiatives.
• Work in a fast-paced inpatient environment, coordinating across multiple teams.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies.
• Minimum of 2+ years inpatient pediatric experience, preferably with higher acuity cases.
• 1+ year Pediatric NP or PA experience preferred; recent pediatric inpatient RN experience with a minimum of 2 years considered for new graduates.
• Current Massachusetts NP (PNP preferred) or PA license.
• BLS certification required; PALS strongly preferred.
