About the role
Atrium Health—Levine Children's Hospitalist is seeking an experienced full-time Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join their dynamic Pediatric Hospitalist team, known as the CHIPS team. This role consists of a 14-hour shift (5p-7a) as the sole provider in-house with physician back-up available.
Responsibilities
- Accepts and admits children from outside hospitals and the in-house pediatric emergency department.
- Answers cross-cover calls or Haiku messages.
- Performs reassessments at bedside.
- Responds to pediatric rapid response alerts.
- Provides virtual consultations to regional ED sites.
Requirements
- One to two years of background in pediatrics preferred.
- Approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in North Carolina.
- Masters Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required (NP Applicants).
- Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program required (PA Applicants).
- Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred (PA Applicants).
Qualifications
- Education: Masters Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required (NP Applicants).
- Certification: Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred (PA Applicants).
Skills
- Experience in pediatric care.
- Ability to perform medical history, physical examinations, and daily assessments.
- Knowledge of procedures such as lumbar puncture.
- Proficiency in writing appropriate for appropriate medications.
- Ability to interpret laboratory, radiology, and other diagnostic results.
- Experience in developing and reviewing clinical and operational policies and procedures.

Pay
$59.00 - $88.50 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
14-hour shift (5p-7a), Monday through Friday, weekends, and holidays.
