Pediatric Hospitalist
About the role
The San Antonio pediatric hospitalist group is seeking a dedicated pediatric hospitalist to join their busy practice covering Methodist Children’s Hospital. Shifts average 10-15 pediatric patients daily, including coverage in the newborn nursery and hospital medicine.
Responsibilities
- Provide coverage for newborn nursery and delivery attendance (not required)
- Work alongside experienced nurse practitioners for newborn nursery coverage
- Mix of day and night shifts, with in-house coverage from 6PM to midnight and home call from midnight to 6AM
- Typically work shift blocks of 3-5 days, with flexibility for longer stretches
- Care for patients admitted to medical/surgical floors and intermediate care unit
- Hospital has PICU and NICU on-site
