About the role

The Nemours Cardiac Center of the Children’s Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware is seeking a pediatric hospitalist to join their cardiac stepdown unit. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) position with flexible scheduling, including potential moonlighting opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialized care to cardiac patients in the CICU and cardiac stepdown unit.
  • Work alongside advanced practice providers (APPs) and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers.
  • Participate in daytime, nighttime, weekend, and holiday shifts.
  • Educate and mentor residents, fellows, and other trainees.
  • Contribute to academic initiatives in research, education, quality improvement, or operations.

Qualifications

  • MD, DO or equivalent clinical doctoral degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an ACGME Accredited Pediatric Residency Program.
  • Board Eligibility/Certification in Pediatric Medicine.
  • Eligibility to obtain valid DEA and Medical licenses in the state of Delaware.
  • An academic record commensurate with appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate or full Professor.

About Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware

Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware, a 220-bed facility located in Wilmington, serves as a Level IV NICU and the only Pediatric Level 1 Trauma Center in the state. For more than 80 years, its world-renowned care, education and research capabilities have healed hundreds of thousands of children and provided training for thousands of pediatric specialists across the U.S. In 2023–24, U.S. News & World Report ranked the hospital in five pediatric specialties: cancer, cardiology and heart surgery, diabetes and endocrinology, gastroenterology and GI surgery and orthopedics.
