Position Summary
The Division of Hospital Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina is seeking an open rank pediatric hospitalist on a fixed term track. Primary clinical responsibilities include in-house day/evening/night coverage, direct patient care, supervision of residents and fellows, and teaching medical students at North Carolina Children’s Hospital (NCCH). Patients will include general pediatrics, newborn nursery, bone marrow transplant, and co-management with other pediatric specialties. NCCH is a leading tertiary care provider in the Southeast with comprehensive specialty and surgical care. The Division is a busy and diverse inpatient group offering 24/7 coverage of inpatient pediatric and newborn nursery services in Chapel Hill, along with a consult service and coordination of admissions and transfers for all medical patients. Faculty members are academically productive in areas such as medical education, quality improvement, and patient safety. The Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area offers an attractive lifestyle with great climate, schools, and access to mountains and beaches.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
- Doctorate: MD or DO
- Pediatric residency in an accredited program
- Full North Carolina physician medical license
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
- Experience/interest in quality improvement and medical education
- Broad clinical experience
- BC/BE in General Pediatrics and/or Hospital Pediatrics (not required)
