Position Responsibilities

Provides “bedside” clinical teaching of residents, medical students, student nurse anesthetists and others.

Participates in the didactic teaching programs of the Department at this institution and attends conferences, rounds, and staff meetings as required by Chair.

May pursue clinical or laboratory research and other scholarly interests independently but within the guidelines of the Institution and Department.

Participate in clinical trials depending upon interest and area of specialization.

Serves on various departmental, School of Medicine, University or VCU Health System committees as requested by Chair or determined via individual interest.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree
• ABA Board-certified anesthesiologist with subspecialty training and certification in pediatric cardiac anesthesia
• Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Virginia
• Eligible for employment in the United States
• Good communication, clinical and teaching skills
• Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
