Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist

About the role

The Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist will provide anesthesia and sedation services for pediatric patients requiring cardiac surgery, cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology studies, cardiac imaging, and for those with congenital or acquired heart disease requiring non-cardiac procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supervise CRNAs and CAAs
• Education of medical students and anesthesia residents pursuing pediatric cardiac anesthesia electives
• Closely work with pediatric cardiac intensivists assisting with invasive monitoring placement, airway management, and bedside procedures
• Participate in department and hospital-wide quality assessment and performance improvement initiatives
• Identify opportunities to enhance care delivery and lead efforts to implement best practices

Requirements

• ACGME residency training and subsequent fellowship
• ABA certification in Anesthesiology and Pediatric Anesthesiology with a focus on Pediatric Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology
• Comprehensive experience in pediatric cardiac anesthesia, teaching, and clinical research

Skills

The ideal candidate will have experience caring for patients with complex congenital heart disease, including single ventricle physiology and critical neonatal cardiac conditions.
