About the role
The Pediatric Call Center Secretary will serve as the central point of communication for the Patient-Care Unit. Key responsibilities include transcribing physician orders under the direction of an RN, maintaining the integrity of the patient's medical record, initiating, completing, and maintaining logs, unit manuals, and statistical reports, and charging supplies.
Responsibilities
- Initiate, complete, and maintain the integrity of the patient's medical record
- Maintain logs, unit manuals, and statistical reports, and complete forms as required by specific Unit
- Maintain inventories and charge supplies
- Be knowledgeable of and initiate emergency procedures
- Serve productively on Hospital/Departmental/Unit committees
- Provide Unit specific orientation in accordance with standard procedure
- Maintain Unit equipment
- Perform Hospital-related and other departmental duties
Requirements
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend caller information and to type, edit, and data enter information in Call Center automated system with a significant level of accuracy
- Comprehensive understanding of unit policies, procedures, and operations in order to assume non-complex administrative details
- Experience with computers and word processing programs
- High School Education preferred and Business Environment Work Experience
- Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with a diverse group of internal callers, patients, and various external contacts
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure
- Bilingual preferred

Grade 110
Schedule
Part Time, Evening Shift: 2 Days a Week - 4:30 pm - 12 am, and Every Other Weekend a choice of - 8 am - 4 pm, or 4 pm - 12 am
