About the role

Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Orange County, CA seeks a board-eligible or board-certified Pediatrician to serve as Medical Director. The position oversees a small team of three direct reports — one experienced pediatrician and two long-term nurse practitioners — and serves a population of approximately 130,000. The clinic uses EPIC EMR.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and medical direction for the pediatric practice
• Supervise and collaborate with one pediatrician and two nurse practitioners
• Manage a light patient volume of 10–15 patients per day
• Utilize 0.5 day per week of protected administrative time (with potential for expansion as the practice grows)
• Participate in quality improvement, protocol development, and staff mentorship

Requirements

• Board-eligible or board-certified in Pediatrics
• At least 3 years of post-residency practice experience
• Active California medical license (or eligibility)
• DEA registration
• Bilingual Spanish proficiency helpful but not required
• Experience with EPIC EMR preferred

Schedule

• 32–40 hours per week
• Option for a 4-day work week
• One Saturday per month required, with a corresponding weekday off during that same week
• 0.5 day per week of protected administrative time

Compensation

Salary range: $234,000 – $280,000 annually.
