Essential Functions
- Responsible for business development, operations, and community relationships within the region.
- Serve as a member of the Enterprise Leadership Team and System Operations Council.
- Lead the Region Executive Team.
- Accountable for the risk in terms of proactive care delivery within the region.
- Accountable for the relationships with employed and affiliated providers.
- Create a clear and unified vision of business and clinical synergies throughout the region.
- Leverage system resources and work collaboratively with system leaders.
- Develops, deploys, and accelerates the adoption of proactive care across the region.
- Serve as an external representative and spokesperson for the organization.
- Inspire and nurture a culture committed to the health of the community.
- Inspire, develop, and coach a high-performing leadership team.
- Serve as the board liaison working with the region governing board.
- Demonstrate excellent financial and operational acumen.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master of Health System Administration or Master of Business Administration or related field, or at least 15 years of increasing administrative responsibility in a large complex healthcare setting.
- Excellent financial and operational track record and understanding of key levers in managing a complex healthcare organization within the context of healthcare reform.
- Ability to quickly build internal and external relationships, with a demonstrated track record of working successfully with physicians and physician leaders, diverse and matrixed management teams, community organizations, local and state government officials, and other major constituencies.
- Successfully implemented and sustained safety and quality improvement programs that are critical dimensions of the institution’s operation and strategic vision.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, mature professionalism with a strong sense of team and a low ego.
- Pioneered and developed physician networks.
- Excellence in judgment and creative problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong ability to apply data, analytics, and trends to influence decision making and drive business outcomes, with strong strategic planning, supervisory, and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to write and speak clearly and concisely, including the ability to interact with senior executives, physicians, and board members.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven track record in major leadership roles such as the CEO, COO, CMO, EVP, or corporate executive of an integrated delivery system.
- This could be a CEO of a $400-500 million or the number two of a $1.5+ billion system with strong sustained performance, both financially and clinically (quality/safety), as well as with respect to engagement (employee, physician and patient).
- Superior understanding of risk-based reimbursement in commercial and government programs healthcare programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in managed care concepts for various health plan and capitated programs.
