About the role
American food, including breakfast and lunch, is served in a casual venue with helpful staff. Duties include preparing and serving a wide range of food items, from daily specials to standard menu offerings, and managing kitchen cleanliness and sanitation.
Responsibilities
- Prepares, produces, and sets up food items for serving.
- Stocks and stores food services items, and rotates and dispenses food commodities.
- Operates various kitchen equipment and utensils for food preparation.
- Cleans and sanitizes the work area, including floors, food carts, cabinets, tables, utensils, and equipment.
- Promotes a safe and healthy workplace by identifying and addressing unsafe practices and equipment.
- Ensures compliance with University policies and health department standards.
- Performs other duties as needed to support the position.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Basic math skills.
- Customer service ability.
- Knowledge of kitchen and dish room tools.
- Safe handling of food, cooking utensils, and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret written materials and menus.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Pay
Targeted pay range: $11.00-$13.00 per hour, dependent on experience.
Schedule
Monday – Friday, Standard/Fixed Schedule.
