PCU RN - Per Diem

Role Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) provides direct, high-quality patient care, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with hospital standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, and implement clinical care for assigned patients on a per-shift basis.
  • Supervise staff and delegate appropriate care, supporting clinical competency and resource management.
  • Coordinate patient care within medical protocols, ensuring safety, risk management, and infection control.
  • Administer medications safely and timely, adhering to hospital policies.
  • Support hospital emergency response roles and familiarize with emergency codes and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school; Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience; recent acute care experience preferred.
  • Valid nursing license and certifications including AHA BLS; ACLS, PALS, or NRP preferred.

Additional Information

The role requires responsibility for ensuring high standards of care, supporting quality improvement initiatives, and maintaining compliance with safety protocols in a full-time night shift capacity.
