About the Role
This is a contract, in-office position for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) within the Resource Float Pool at Talented Medical Solutions in Tucson, AZ. The role involves floating between two campuses—BUMC-Tucson (Level I Trauma, 625 beds) and BUMC-South (Level IV Trauma, 245 beds)—to provide support across various Adult Health units. At BUMC-Tucson, these units include Observation (2 units), Med Surg (4 units), PCU, and IMC (total 11 units). At BUMC-South, the role may involve floating to 4 Adult Health units (1 Observation, 2 PCU, and 1 Med Surg). Occasionally, the RN may be floated to the ED or PACU to care for Adult Health patients with inpatient orders awaiting bed placement.
Requirements
- Active RN license with current PCU/Acute Care experience.
- Proven medication administration experience with accurate dosing and documentation.
- Strong patient monitoring skills and ability to rapidly escalate care to appropriate teams.
- Familiarity with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and accreditation requirements.
- Excellent bedside nursing documentation and proficiency with EHR systems.
- Collaborative approach to multi-disciplinary teamwork and care transition coordination.
- Commitment to infection prevention, safety, and maintaining a clean care environment.
- Ability to meet productivity targets and demonstrate personal accountability.
- Willingness to participate in on-site onboarding, mentorship, and continuous professional development.
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to use metrics to identify care improvement opportunities.
Level I Trauma and large hospital experience is required.
