PCQI Production Lead

About the role
The PCQI Production Lead ensures the highest quality and most consistent products in the industry by performing duties meticulously and assisting with staff training. This role requires PCQI certification and acts as a subject matter expert in food safety practices, training peers and employees. The PCQI Production Lead must understand kitchen, beverage, and packaging processes, lead production teams, and work a flexible schedule, including opening and closing procedures.
Responsibilities
- Train peers on procedures for production and packaging quality control checks.
- Review and sign off on production and packaging quality control checks; report inconsistencies to the Production Manager.
- Review other records as necessary and establish action plans to address food safety or quality control issues.
- Prep, mix, cook, produce, pour, deposit, pull, and store all facility consumables and products.
- Accurately prepare ingredients, workstations, and equipment for production, including regular equipment checks.
- Maintain high-quality standards during shifts, including QA/QC of weights, appearance, and flavor profiles.
- Manage time and team schedules to meet daily production expectations.
- Work collaboratively in high-pressure situations with a sense of urgency.
- Correctly infuse products by thoroughly scraping, turning, lifting, and rotating for the appropriate time.
- Accurately read, record, and communicate kitchen data, counts, measurements, and weights.
- Perform opening and closing duties.
- Ensure proper storage of all facility consumables and products in compliance with safety practices.
- Maintain sanitation and safety standards; keep a clean and organized kitchen.
- Perform visual quality inspections on products and minimize waste.
- Communicate information and respond to questions or suggestions from various levels within the company.
- Assist Production Supervisors and Managers in training and coaching Production Support employees.
- Communicate quality or safety discrepancies to Supervisors, Managers, or Directors.
- Make recommendations to management regarding personnel evaluation and training.
- Assist the Production Manager or Production Supervisor as needed.
- Ensure a safe working environment and review daily safety topics.
- Assist with packaging responsibilities as required.
- Perform other duties, responsibilities, and activities as assigned.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of directly related experience in a food production or kitchen environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1 year of lead or supervisory experience.
- Experience with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations.
- Ability to work with a high sense of urgency.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Must obtain all state-required permits, licenses, and certifications.
- ServSafe Food Handler’s Card preferred.
- Willingness to submit to a background check.
- Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Must be 21 years of age or older (state regulation).
- Basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
