PCQI Production Lead

About the role
The PCQI Production Lead ensures the highest quality and most consistent products in the industry by performing duties meticulously and assisting staff with training. This role requires PCQI certification and acts as a subject matter expert in training and calibrating peers on food safety practices. The PCQI Production Lead must understand processes in kitchen, beverage, and packaging production departments, operate as a peer among other Leads, and lead production teams as needed. A flexible schedule and knowledge of opening/closing procedures are required.
Responsibilities
- Train peers on procedures for production and packaging quality control checks.
- Review and sign off on production and packaging quality control checks.
- Report inconsistencies to the Production Manager and review other records as needed.
- Establish action plans with the Production Manager to address food safety/quality control issues.
- Prep, mix, cook, produce, pour, deposit, pull, and store all facility consumables and products.
- Prepare ingredients, workstations, and equipment for production, including regular equipment checks.
- Maintain high-quality standards during shifts, including QA/QC of weights, appearance, and flavor profile.
- Manage time and team schedules to meet daily production expectations.
- Work effectively in high-pressure situations with a sense of urgency.
- Correctly infuse products by thoroughly scraping, turning, lifting, and rotating for appropriate time.
- Accurately read, record, and communicate kitchen data, counts, measurements, and weights.
- Perform opening and closing duties.
- Ensure proper storage of consumables and products in compliance with safety practices.
- Maintain sanitation and safety standards, and a clean, organized work environment.
- Perform visual quality inspections and minimize waste.
- Communicate information and respond to questions/suggestions from various levels within the company.
- Assist in training and coaching Production Support employees on procedures, techniques, and compliance.
- Communicate quality or safety discrepancies to supervisors, managers, or directors.
- Make recommendations regarding personnel evaluation and training.
- Assist the Production Manager or Supervisor as needed.
- Ensure a safe working environment and review daily safety topics.
- Assist with packaging responsibilities as required.
- Perform other duties, responsibilities, and activities as assigned.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of directly related experience in a food production or kitchen environment, or equivalent education and experience.
- 1 year of lead or supervisory experience.
- Experience and familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations.
- Experience working with a high sense of urgency.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Must obtain all state-required permits, licenses, and certifications.
- ServSafe Food Handler’s Card preferred.
- Willing to submit to a background check.
- Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and written.
- Must be 21 years of age or older (state regulation).
- Basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Pay
$25.50 - $30.80 per hour, plus bonuses.
