We are seeking an experienced PCAT Lead to lead our welding team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This hands-on leadership position works alongside the team, providing technical guidance, solving problems, and helping develop welders into top performers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and support a team of welders throughout the shift.
  • Assign work based on production schedules and priorities.
  • Perform welding duties as needed while leading the team.
  • Ensure all welds meet quality specifications and customer requirements.
  • Interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and work instructions.
  • Inspect work for accuracy and workmanship before moving to the next operation.
  • Train new employees on welding techniques, safety procedures, and company standards.
  • Promote and enforce all safety policies, including proper PPE and safe welding practices.
  • Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance to resolve issues.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency.
  • Monitor material usage and minimize scrap and rework.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area through 5S principles.
  • Lead by example in attendance, professionalism, teamwork, and work ethic.

Requirements

  • Previous lead, trainer, or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong MIG welding experience required.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings.
  • Working knowledge of welding equipment and fabrication processes.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred.
  • Lean manufacturing experience is a plus.
