We are seeking an experienced PCAT Lead to lead our welding team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This hands-on leadership position works alongside the team, providing technical guidance, solving problems, and helping develop welders into top performers.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and support a team of welders throughout the shift.
- Assign work based on production schedules and priorities.
- Perform welding duties as needed while leading the team.
- Ensure all welds meet quality specifications and customer requirements.
- Interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and work instructions.
- Inspect work for accuracy and workmanship before moving to the next operation.
- Train new employees on welding techniques, safety procedures, and company standards.
- Promote and enforce all safety policies, including proper PPE and safe welding practices.
- Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance to resolve issues.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency.
- Monitor material usage and minimize scrap and rework.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area through 5S principles.
- Lead by example in attendance, professionalism, teamwork, and work ethic.
Requirements
- Previous lead, trainer, or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong MIG welding experience required.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings.
- Working knowledge of welding equipment and fabrication processes.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred.
- Lean manufacturing experience is a plus.
