About the role
Personal Care Aide responsible for providing client care and support in a home care setting.
Responsibilities
- Follow the client’s aide plan and complete daily tasks via EVV or electronic timesheets.
- Assist with basic personal care such as bathing, grooming, ambulating, meal preparation (including special diets), feeding, oral hygiene, and transfers using equipment like walkers and wheelchairs.
- Ensure safety precautions, infection control, and maintain a clean, safe environment.
- Perform secondary tasks such as laundry, cleaning, grocery shopping, and meal prep as needed.
- Respect client confidentiality, privacy, and rights while delivering quality care.
- Monitor client conditions, report changes, and notify supervisors of concerns or unsafe environments.
- Assist with self-administration of medications (without directly administering).
- Adhere to scope of practice, seek guidance when necessary, and follow policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Skills
- High School diploma preferred; ability to read and write required.
- At least 6 months of validated caregiving experience.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Ability to encourage self-help and support independence.
- Strong adherence to safety, infection control, and confidentiality protocols.
