PC Technician
About the role
Our client is looking for a PC Technician to maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair computer systems, hardware, and peripherals. This role involves upgrading or replacing hardware and software systems, managing user accounts (including security, rights, and system groups), and providing routine problem-solving for network or PC software, hardware, or peripheral issues. The technician coordinates with vendors for service when necessary, installs and configures computer hardware, software, and peripherals for new employees or relocations, and manages software installations and upgrades. Additional responsibilities may include handling password assignments, contributing to system documentation and procedure manuals, and conducting training sessions for employees on software and hardware systems.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair computer systems, hardware, and peripherals
- Upgrade or replace hardware and software systems
- Manage user accounts, including security, rights, and system groups
- Provide routine problem-solving for network or PC software, hardware, or peripheral issues
- Coordinate with vendors for service when necessary
- Install and configure computer hardware, software, and peripherals for new employees or relocations
- Manage software installations and upgrades
- Handle password assignments
- Contribute to the development of system documentation and procedure manuals
- Conduct training sessions for employees on the use of software and hardware systems
Requirements
- 3-6 years of experience in desktop support within a corporate environment
- Experience providing technical assistance to employees using Microsoft Windows OS (preferably Windows 10 and 11)
- Proficient in break/fix troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and peripheral issues
- Expertise in system refresh, imaging, and reimaging processes for deploying and configuring workstations
- Strong knowledge of Office 365 and Active Directory, including user management, permissions, and troubleshooting
Qualifications
- College degree (nice to have)
- Dell Certifications (nice to have)
- Experience using ServiceNow or Remedy (or similar ticketing system) (nice to have)
