PC TECHNICIAN

About the role
This position provides IT Desktop Support for Arizona Department of Health Services personnel, including 2nd tier computer support for desktops and computer peripherals. Responsibilities include routine testing and analysis of Local Area Network hardware and software, monitoring LAN performance, and recommending corrective actions. The role serves as a technical resource to Desktop Support technicians, installs and maintains midrange operating systems, evaluates system specifications, and troubleshoots networking and operating system problems. This position supports the Health Services (HS) domain with approximately 2,400 users across multiple platforms and applications, including the Health Emergency Operations Center, Preparedness Activations, Active Directory, and other application servers as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Hardware upgrades, PC deployments, and ticket resolution
- Software installation and configuration
- Diagnose hardware and software issues
- Provide training and assistance to staff
- Prepare reports and document resolutions
- Other duties as assigned related to the position
Requirements
- Deep knowledge of PC hardware and Windows software, including operating systems, Microsoft Office, and ODBC/databases
- Understanding of networking concepts
- Knowledge of Apple devices and enrollment into an MDM system
- At least three years of full-time desktop support experience, or at least one of the following certifications: CompTIA A+, Microsoft MCDST
- Intermediate knowledge of data management and systems administration is preferable
- Familiarity with Google platform, Performance Management (PM), Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), and Lean methodologies
- Valid driver’s license
- Valid level one fingerprint clearance card issued pursuant to A.R.S. 36-113

Qualifications
Selective preference for candidates with an Associate’s degree plus 1–3 years of experience in desktop support (or equivalent experience).

$57,750 annually
