About the role
We are seeking an experienced PC Support Technician to provide onsite technical support for the DCAS Testing Center located at 149 Pierrepont Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201. The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and configuring computer hardware, software, and peripheral devices to ensure uninterrupted operations in a high-demand testing environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated onsite technical support for PC hardware, software, and peripheral devices at the DCAS Testing Center.
- Install, configure, update, and maintain Microsoft Windows and Apple macOS operating systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, printer, and network connectivity issues.
- Deploy and configure desktops, laptops, handheld devices, and printers.
- Perform routine system administration tasks and provide end-user technical support.
- Conduct hardware and software evaluations and provide technical recommendations.
- Cook up with internal teams to support project requirements while minimizing system downtime.
- Document technical issues, resolutions, and maintain accurate support records.
- Provide technical support at other MTA locations as required.
- Move and lift computer equipment and related hardware when necessary.
Requirements
- 4–6 years of experience in desktop/PC support or a related technical support role.
- Strong experience supporting PC hardware, software, printers, and peripheral devices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365 Suite, and Outlook.
- Experience supporting Apple macOS environments.
- Familiarity with Oracle client-based applications.
- Experience with Active Directory and networking equipment.
- Knowledge of Ethernet cabling and networking protocols such as TCP/IP.
- Experience with Device Provisioning (Windows Autopilot).
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications
CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications preferred. Experience with CAD software and technical drawings is a plus. Ability to work independently in an onsite support environment. Flexibility to work weekends when testing schedules require support.
