PBX Operator - Per Diem - Varied - La Jolla
Job Summary
Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla is seeking a PBX Operator on a casual/per diem basis. Shifts are available from 7PM to 3:30AM, 2PM to 10:30PM, and some mid-day shifts. Positions require weekend and evening availability.

Responsibilities
- Answer calls and routine inquiries, routing to intended destination
- Respond appropriately to and document emergency situations, following policy and guidelines
- Act as a part of a team, including training new employees
- Pages physicians, security, or employees as appropriate via radio, pagers, computer, or overhead PA system
- Follows all documentation procedures
- Completes additional tasks such as sorting and mailing messages during downtime, delivering messages to physician offices, and completing and distributing daily sheets
Requirements
- Strong customer service skills, computer skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive hand motions and multitasking
Qualifications
- Health care experience, and Call Center/PBX experience preferred
