PBX Operator
About the role
Seeking customer-focused and dependable PBX Operators to help keep hospital communications running smoothly. In this role, you'll serve as a central point of contact for patients, visitors, physicians, and hospital staff, ensuring important calls and emergency communications are handled accurately and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Answer and route incoming internal and external calls
- Provide information and connect callers with the appropriate departments
- Screens and transfers calls professionally and efficiently
- Dispatch security and communicate urgent requests as needed
- Make emergency overhead announcements when required
- Maintain facility work orders and service requests
- Communicate with Environmental Services and other hospital departments
- Support hospital-wide operations by ensuring critical communications are delivered promptly
Requirements
- Experience in customer service, call center, reception, front office, clerical, or administrative support roles
- Strong verbal communication and listening skills
- Able to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
- Comfortable handling a high volume of calls and multitasking
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
- Ability to work with diverse populations and communication styles
- PBX or switchboard experience is a plus but not required
Qualifications
- Available to work weekends, including Friday and Saturday
- Available shift: 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM, 3:30 PM - 2:00 AM

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Work Environment
Onsite at Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, CA 92691. Independent office setting within the hospital's Pavilion area. Professional and supportive team environment. Business casual attire.
