PBX Operator
About the role
Provides the communication services between the hospital and the general public within the professional building in a professional, confidential, and competent manner. Ability to work efficiently under pressure. Ability to converse in a clear and understandable manner in all situations. Has the ability to overhead page necessary personnel in a calm and professional manner. Is responsible for insuring that all personnel are notified of any codes to ensure safety of all patients, guests, and employees. Responsible for all duties as assigned by the Admissions Manager or the Business Office Director.
Responsibilities
- Determines priority on patient care and completes work within appropriate time frame.
- Delegates work appropriate to job classification with clear concise directions.
- Ensures accuracy & completeness of work performed.
- Follows hospital policy and procedure in performing job functions, skills and tasks.
- Willing to adjust personal schedule in cases of workload fluctuations or other departmental needs.
- When assigned work is complete, seeks additional tasks to be done.
- Performs well in stress and emergency situations, demonstrating effective coping skills.
- Follows through with assignments and informs supervisor if unable to complete task.
