About the District

Southbridge Public Schools serve approximately 2,200 students across six schools—and we’re in the midst of an exciting and measurable transformation. Our secondary schools are on a trajectory of rapid improvement, as highlighted in this video about Southbridge Middle School’s recent progress. Even in the challenging aftermath of the COVID pandemic, SMS has achieved outstanding student achievement gains in Math and was recognized by the University of Connecticut as a PBIS success story. We are now seeing similar transformative change at Southbridge High School, with dramatic improvements in culture and climate among both staff and students during the 2024-25 school year. We anticipate significant academic gains will follow.

While many of our students have high needs, they demonstrate daily that with high expectations and consistent support, they can excel. Responsibilities

• Facilitate sustainability and expansion of PBIS practices district-wide.
• Provide and/or facilitate quality training at all three tiers of PBIS: universal, secondary, and tertiary.
• Recruit, staff, train, and provide ongoing support to district-level PBIS Coaches.
• Oversee school-level data collection, management, and analysis.
• Train and provide ongoing technical and data analysis support to staff using school-wide and secondary-tier data collection systems.
• Collect and monitor school databases to track and analyze student behavioral data, including climate survey patterns.
• Participate in regional, statewide, and national PBIS leadership conferences and meetings.
• Provide ongoing coaching of school-based PBIS teams.
• Attend monthly coaches meetings held outside of school hours for an hour each month.
• Attend all coaches and team trainings throughout the school year.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a variety of locations including office and school environments. Involves sitting, walking, use of computers, office equipment, and driving a personal vehicle. May require attendance at some evening meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Knowledge of research related to positive behavioral interventions and supports at all three tiers: universal, secondary, and tertiary.
• Experience planning and conducting professional development/training.
• Demonstrated leadership and project organizational skills (planning, implementing, evaluation).
• Ability to work collaboratively with various groups and gain consensus related to project implementation and problem-solving.
• Experience in data-based decision-making.
• Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills with individuals, teams, and groups (teachers, parents, administrators, and support staff).

Pay

Stipend: $1,500.
