About the Role

The PBIS Coordinator leads, supports, and monitors the implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) in a school or across multiple schools within the district. This role includes coaching staff, collecting and analyzing data, facilitating team meetings, and ensuring PBIS strategies align with school improvement goals to support a safe, inclusive, and effective learning environment.

Reports to: Building Principal and District PBIS Coordinator or designee.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the implementation of PBIS at Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 levels.
  • Facilitate regular PBIS team meetings to review data, plan interventions, and monitor fidelity.
  • Provide training, coaching, and technical assistance to teachers, support staff, and administrators.
  • Analyze behavioral data to identify trends, set goals, and inform decision-making.
  • Collaborate with building staff, committees, and State support teams to align and implement services.
  • Develop and disseminate materials, tools, and resources to support PBIS practices.
  • Ensure PBIS practices are culturally responsive and inclusive.
  • Monitor fidelity of implementation using tools such as TFI (Tiered Fidelity Inventory).
  • Coordinate communication and family/community involvement in PBIS initiatives.
  • Assist in developing school-wide behavior expectations, acknowledgments, and discipline protocols.
  • Prepare reports and present PBIS outcomes to stakeholders, including leadership and school boards.
  • Collaborate with other Building Coordinators on District Implementation of PBIS.
  • Collaborate and assist with the completion and submission of the Building and District Recognition Application.
  • Additional responsibilities as needed to meet student needs or PBIS goals.
  • Fulfill the Coordinator roles and responsibilities of the assignment monthly as outlined in the PBIS handbooks.

Requirements

  • Current Mansfield City Schools staff member (teacher, counselor, administrator, paraprofessional, or support staff).
  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting a positive school climate and student success.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others.
  • Experience with PBIS implementation within the school-wide expectations of basic behavioral support strategies.

Preferred Skills

  • Prior experience on a PBIS Committee.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Basic understanding of the PBIS framework and goals.
  • Experience with behavior data or progress monitoring systems (e.g., SWIS, referral data).
  • Culturally responsive and trauma-informed mindset.
  • Demonstrated success in coaching or professional development delivery.

Schedule

  • Attend team meetings (minimally, twice monthly).
  • Attend District coordinators meeting (quarterly).
  • Organize and participate in PBIS-related events, training, and implementation activities as scheduled.
  • Contribute to data reviews and planning monthly.
  • Meetings or training sessions may be outside of the working day or included in summer planning.

Working Conditions

  • School or office environment.
  • Must be assigned and working in the building of the team.
  • May require travel between school sites.
