Payroll Tax Specialist
Responsibilities
- Support the Corporate Payroll Director in the efficiency and accuracy of payroll tax reporting.
- Work on the organization's tax compliance and processing of tax returns biweekly, quarterly, and annually.
- Evaluate, validate, and analyze payroll documents for accuracy.
- Provide guidance to staff and work on any inquiries pertaining to payroll tax issues.
- Assist with registering new entities as needed.
- Help in facility tax audits as needed.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Payroll.
- Previous hospital payroll experience.
- Multi-state Payroll Tax reporting experience – minimum of 5 years.
- Hands-on experience with Excel or equivalent software.
- Experience with JBDev/Kronos or similar timekeeping system.
- Knowledge of Wage and Hour Guidelines and Healthcare pay practices.
- Knowledge of payroll tax dictionary setup.
- Hands-on experience with payroll taxes.
Preferred Qualifications
- College degree preferred.
- Multi-state knowledge of payroll laws preferred.
- Knowledge of Tax Compliance preferred.
- Experience with union collective bargaining agreements and protocols preferred.
- Hands-on experience with audits for 401k, DOL, W/C preferred.
