About the role

The Payroll Tax Manager will serve as the internal expert on all payroll tax matters, advising various teams on legislative changes, validating positions, and leading audits.

Responsibilities

  • Advising payroll, equity, HR, and accounting teams on legislative changes and validating existing and new positions.
  • Developing global payroll tax policy and assisting with M&A integration.
  • Collaborating with HR, Finance, Equity Administration, Legal, and Benefits on cross-functional initiatives.
  • Leading global payroll tax audits and inquiries from revenue authorities.
  • Participating in M&A due diligence and integration activities.
  • Reimagining the payroll tax reporting process using Databricks technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
  • 5+ years of payroll tax experience.
  • Strong knowledge of US federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
  • Knowledge of international payroll tax regulations.
  • Experience with equity compensation tax matters.
  • Experience with payroll systems and tax filing platforms (SAP, Netsuite, Workday preferred).
  • Experience leveraging automation tools or AI at work.
  • Experience with payroll tax audits and negotiating with revenue authorities.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Workday.
  • Experience with mobility tax issues (state to state or country to country).
  • Experience in large, complex, multinational organizations.
