Essential Functions
- Enters and calculates payroll accurately; meets payroll deadlines; resolves payroll discrepancies.
- Handles the maintenance of payroll records, logs and files in accordance with FPI policy and state and federal laws and regulations.
- Ensures that the bi-weekly ACH bank files, check printing files, and tax files are accurately produced and transmitted to the appropriate recipients in a timely manner.
- Supervises and coordinates fiscal and calendar year-end processing of payroll, including supplemental payrolls, W-2 and other tax forms, and other government required documentation.
- Evaluates and analyzes existing payroll policies, procedures and business processes. Enforces established payroll related policies.
- Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
- Processes labor distributions/employee funding profiles to multiple funding sources while maintaining budgeted spending.
- Handles processing of timesheets, absence requests including FMLA, advance sick leave and other various leave categories as it relates to Payroll and HR transactions.
- Maintains and ensures that HR transactions that impact Payroll are accurate in multiple HR/payroll systems.
- Processes supplemental compensation payments and administers Faculty compensation plans.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from four year college or university.
- Three to five years related payroll experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge
- Knowledge of payroll platforms for PeopleSoft, ADP, UltiPro, Oracle Cloud HCM

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/training and other qualifications.
