About the role
In this hands-on role, supervise the payroll team, bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls and associated functions to ensure that pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. Provide timely customer service to employees located in five states: Alaska, Washington, Montana, North Dakota, and Wyoming.
- Research and apply updates to federal, state, and local payroll and tax laws.
- Ensure all payroll processing—including garnishments, government-mandated deductions, employee accounts for tool purchases, status changes for new hires, promotions, transfers, raises, and terminations—is completed timely and on schedule.
- Identify opportunities to inform and train regional supervisors on common payroll practices and matters, including Time Management responsibilities.
- Develop and identify effective communication methods for UKG tool utilization and make corrections as necessary.
- Ensure payroll wire notifications for Bank funds, Taxes, and 401k funds are complete, accurate, and distributed per outlined schedules.
- Develop, maintain, and properly file payroll-related reports for easy retrieval during audits and other business-related needs.
- Perform and audit post-payroll tasks for taxable expenses.
- Develop productive working relationships with key departments: Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, and Branch leadership to ensure coordinated, timely, and accurate payroll actions.
Requirements
- Supervise team in-office (non-remote) during work hours from Monday – Friday, 8am to 5pm.
- Proficient with payroll software, specifically UKG (Ultimate Software).
- Demonstrate solid organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Friendly, helpful, and patient demeanor with a collaborative approach to teamwork.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in payroll processing, with a minimum of 4 years in a supervisory role.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, and/or a Payroll certification.

Pay
Annual salary range: $96,900 to $118,500 per year.
Schedule
Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (in-office, non-remote).
