Payroll Specialist (Temporary, benefitted)
About the role
We are seeking a Payroll Specialist with 2+ years of experience processing full-cycle payroll in Workday. This is a temporary position supporting our Enterprise Workday implementation.
Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly multi-state payroll from beginning to end, including data loads for variable pay.
- Audit and report on payroll discrepancies, ensuring accuracy and proper approval of employee time records.
- Manage and maintain Workday and Kronos (UKG) Time and Attendance systems, providing user training and support.
- Support the creation and implementation of training materials for time and attendance editing and reporting.
- Collaborate with HR and finance departments to integrate payroll data with other company systems.
- Respond to unemployment insurance requests, child support orders, garnishments, and state and federal withholding orders.
- Ensure compliance with California wage and hour laws and federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Provide customer service to internal and external associates, maintaining confidentiality of payroll and HR data.
Requirements
Minimum two (2) years of experience in payroll processing and associated activities. Prior experience with Kronos time and attendance and Workday Payroll Software is preferred. Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is required.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of California wage and hour laws, ability to prioritize and multitask under time constraints, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications are essential.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $26.73 to $44.10 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
This is a day shift position, working 08:00 AM to 04:00 PM.
