Responsibilities
- Prepare and process bi-weekly payroll for 100+ hourly and salaried employees in USA using UKG; manage off-cycles as needed
- Manage year-end processing of tax forms (W-2s and 1095-Cs) and government declarations
- Coordinate efforts between Payroll, HR, Finance and other departments to ensure employees are paid accurately, on time, and in accordance with government legislation
- Review and validate timecard entries for hourly employees
- Analyze custom reporting to review significant variances for accuracy
- Process and monitor garnishment orders and other special payments
- Coordinate benefit premium payments for employees on leave of absence
- Assist in managing various time off policies
- Coordinate and administer group medical benefits and retirement (401k) benefits, including enrollments, terminations, and monthly invoice reconciliations
- Coordinate various elements of the annual benefits renewal and Open Enrollment cycle
- Assist in annual Workers Compensation renewal and audit
- Provide excellent customer service to employees by responding to general inquiries regarding payroll and benefits
- Provide guidance and training to employees on payroll and timekeeping systems
- Special projects as needed
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years' experience with full-cycle payroll processing for USA employees
- Experience with UKG payroll system, preferred
- Certification from the PayrollOrg (formerly the American Payroll Association) or ongoing is an asset
- Proficient computer skills with Word, Outlook, and Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables)
- Personal integrity when working with confidential information
- Strong attention to detail and adaptability, with ability to process large volumes of data
- Superior problem solving, multitasking, and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal & communication skills in English (verbal and written)
