About the Role

Direct Meds LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to support the accurate and timely processing of payroll for approximately 400+ employees. This role is responsible for administering payroll activities, ensuring compliance with federal and state payroll regulations, maintaining payroll records, and providing exceptional support to employees regarding payroll-related inquiries.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll accurately and on time for approximately 400+ employees in multiple entities and pay groups.
  • Respond to employee payroll questions and resolve payroll-related issues promptly and professionally.
  • Process new hires, employee terminations, pay rate changes, promotions, and other payroll transactions.
  • Perform payroll audits to identify and resolve discrepancies before payroll is finalized.
  • Administer wage garnishments, tax levies, benefit deductions, and other payroll withholdings.
  • Reconcile payroll reports and ensure payroll records are accurate and complete.
  • Support quarter-end and year-end payroll activities, including tax reporting and audits.
  • Prepare payroll reports and maintain payroll documentation in accordance with company policies.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
  • Partner closely with Human Resources, Finance, Benefits, and Accounting to ensure accurate employee data and payroll processing.
  • Assist with payroll process improvements and support system enhancements that increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of employee payroll information.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience or a similar payroll-focused role.
  • Experience processing payroll for a mid-sized organization.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax withholdings, garnishments, and payroll compliance.
  • Experience with payroll systems and HRIS platforms; Rippling experience a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in Google Suite products (Google Sheets).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification or FPC (Fundamentals in Payroll Certification) is a plus but not required.
  • Continuous learner with a growth mindset.

Pay

Salary Range: $75,000–$95,000 annually. The base salary listed above represents a good-faith estimate of the minimum and maximum target for this position. Actual compensation offered may vary depending on the candidate's geographic location, job-related skills, experience, and education.
