About the role
ESHYFT is a technology company that connects nurses to healthcare facilities to provide health care to the most vulnerable. Currently, 99% of nursing homes in the US are facing nursing shortages, which means residents may not receive adequate care.
Responsibilities
- Support payroll operations across large-volume W-2 and 1099 healthcare workforces
- Review, audit, and validate employee hours, timecards, shift differentials, payroll adjustments, deductions, and payroll-related data
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, payroll corrections, missing hours, direct deposit issues, payroll tax inquiries, and employee payroll questions
- Serve as a primary point of contact for nurse payroll support and payroll-related issue resolution
- Review payroll registers, funding reports, tax reports, exception reports, and payroll audit reports for accuracy and completeness
- Prepare payroll reporting, workforce reporting, overtime analysis, payroll analytics, ad hoc reporting, and data analyses to support Payroll, Finance, Operations, and executive leadership decision-making
- Perform payroll reconciliations, payroll liability analysis, payroll-to-general ledger balancing, payroll accrual support, and payroll-related month-end support activities
- Support payroll tax administration, tax notice research, payroll tax reconciliations, and resolution of payroll tax issues in partnership with payroll vendors and internal stakeholders
- Cook up payroll vendor support requests, issue tracking, escalations, and payroll-related projects
- Support payroll system evaluations, implementations, payroll conversions, platform migrations, parallel payroll testing, payroll validation, user acceptance testing, and payroll technology improvement initiatives
- Develop proficiency across all payroll processes and serve as primary operational backup to the Payroll Manager to support payroll continuity and business operations
Qualifications
- 5+ years of payroll experience
- Experience supporting high-volume, multi-state payroll environments
- Experience supporting W-2 and/or 1099 payroll populations
- Advanced Excel skills required, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, data validation, reconciliations, payroll reporting, and manipulation and analysis of large data sets
- Strong understanding of payroll taxes, payroll deductions, wage and hour requirements, garnishments, and payroll compliance requirements
- Experience reviewing and auditing employee timecards, payroll reports, payroll calculations, and payroll-related data
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and customer service skills
- Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional employee support and resolve payroll-related issues with professionalism and urgency
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet critical payroll deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now, Paychex, UKG, Empeon, or similar enterprise payroll platforms strongly preferred
- Experience supporting payroll system evaluations, implementations, payroll conversions, payroll migrations, or payroll technology transitions highly preferred
- Experience with workforce management, timekeeping, or attendance systems preferred
- Experience supporting healthcare staffing, healthcare technology, home healthcare, healthcare services, or other high-volume workforce environments strongly preferred
- Experience supporting payroll reconciliations, payroll-related accounting processes, and payroll-to-general ledger integrations preferred
