Payroll Manager / HR Generalist

About the role

The Human Resources Payroll Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Sebastopol, Sonoma County, California.

Responsibilities

• Maintain employee records
• Administer benefits
• Support the implementation and interpretation of HR policies
• Handle employee inquiries related to compensation and benefits
• Resolve payroll discrepancies
• Collaborate with finance for reporting and audits
• Support employee relations initiatives
• Assist with onboarding and offboarding
• Contribute to HR projects that enhance workforce engagement and operational efficiency

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in Human Resources (HR) and HR Management, including oversight of HR operations and process improvement
• Strong knowledge of Employee Benefits administration, including health, retirement, and leave programs
• Proven ability in Employee Relations, including addressing employee concerns and supporting positive workplace culture
• Experience developing, interpreting, and enforcing HR Policies in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
• Hands-on expertise with payroll systems and timekeeping tools, including multi-state payroll processing and reporting
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and confidentiality
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Prior experience in manufacturing, agriculture, or food production environments
• Spanish proficiency (written and spoken) strongly preferred
