About the role
UltraViolet Cyber is a leading platform-enabled unified security operations company providing comprehensive security operations solutions. We are seeking an experienced, strategic Payroll Manager to lead payroll operations for our global workforce spanning North America, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and Asia Pacific and Americas (APAC).
Responsibilities
- Payroll Operations & Compliance
- End-to-end semi-monthly and monthly payroll processing for 350+ employees and contractors across multiple EINs in the U.S. and Canada (NAM)
- Oversee payroll operations in India (APAC) for 400+ employees, partnering with regional teams to ensure consistency, compliance, and cross-border alignment
- Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws; including timely tax filings, withholdings, and multi-state registrations
- Reconcile payroll liabilities (taxes, benefits, garnishments) in close partnership with HR and Finance
- Maintain timely updates to compensation, deductions, and benefits in partnership with HR
- Manage HSA contribution uploads, ensuring accurate and timely funding in coordination with benefits and banking partners
- Oversee UK pension import processes, ensuring compliance with auto-enrolment requirements and accurate submission to pension providers
- Champion data integrity and security across all payroll systems and employee records
- Serve as the escalation point for employee payroll inquiries; responsive, clear, and professional
- Labor Cost Allocation & Financial Reporting
- Coordinate with Accounting to post labor costs from timesheet systems into the ERP and appropriate cost centers
- Collaborate with Accounting to segment payroll across direct and indirect cost pools; project-based costs, fringe, overhead, and G&AC
- Collaborate with FP&A and Project Accounting on labor forecasting and headcount budget planning
- Prepare payroll-related metrics, management reports, and audit-ready documentation
- Audit & Compliance Leadership
- Lead payroll components of internal and external audits; identify gaps and implement corrective actions
- Ensure accurate and timely filings for federal and state wage and tax reports (W-2, 941, etc.)
- Coordinate with external accountants and tax advisors on payroll compliance and filing obligations
- Maintain state payroll registrations and ongoing reporting requirements across all applicable jurisdictions
Requirements
- Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field
- 7+ years of payroll experience in a multi-state, multi-entity environment — NAM, EMEA and/or APAC exposure strongly preferred
- Experience with multi-currency payroll and foreign exchange considerations
- Strong knowledge of US payroll tax law, compliance requirements, and regulatory reporting; familiarity with UK and/or India payroll regulations a plus
- Hands-on experience with timesheet systems, labor cost segmentation, and payroll journal entries
- Advanced Excel skills — reconciliation, data validation, pivot tables, and reporting
- Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now or a comparable payroll platform
- Clear communicator with a track record of effective cross-functional collaboration
- Unwavering discretion with sensitive and confidential employee information
- PREFERRED:
- Experience with ERP systems, particularly NetSuite
- Familiarity with GDPR and data privacy regulations required for EMEA payroll operations
- Familiarity with Ramp or similar modern financial platforms
- Knowledge of project-based cost allocations and indirect rate structures
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) and/or Global Payroll Management (GPM) certification(s)
