Responsibilities

  • Aid in weekly payroll processing for both union and non-union employees.
  • Support payroll data entry, timecard review, payroll changes, deductions, overtime, and basic payroll adjustments.
  • Resolve employee payroll questions or discrepancies.
  • Maintain employee records, including new hires, employee changes, and terminations.
  • Coordinate onboarding and assist with IT for new hire system access.
  • Aid in recruiting coordination, such as scheduling interviews and supporting pre-employment verification.
  • Track union employee progression increases and related data.
  • Administer benefits, including new hire enrollments, qualifying life event changes, payroll deductions, and open enrollment.
  • Prepare COBRA notices, workers’ compensation documentation, and answer employee benefit questions.
  • Reconcile monthly invoices for payroll, benefits, voluntary plans, and union-related items.
  • Generate reports, including headcount, census data, month-end reports, and ad hoc HR/payroll reports.
  • Manage PTO tracking and assist with process improvements.
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR team and business operations.

Qualifications

  • 1 to 3 years of payroll, HR, or HR coordination experience preferred.
  • ADP payroll experience preferred; ADP Workforce Now is a plus.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a union environment is a plus, but not required.
  • Associate degree preferred, but not required.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and follow through in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional communication skills and comfort interacting with employees and leadership.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
