About the role
We are partnering with a growing organization to identify a Payroll & HR Coordinator to support payroll operations and employee administration. This position is ideal for someone with a strong payroll and accounting foundation who enjoys working with employee data, maintaining accurate records, and supporting HR processes. The right candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable handling confidential information while partnering closely with payroll and accounting teams.
Responsibilities
- Support weekly payroll processing by maintaining accurate employee payroll records, including pay rate changes, tax forms, direct deposit updates, benefit deductions, and other payroll-related changes.
- Maintain and update employee information within the HRIS/payroll system to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.
- Process payroll-related documentation, including employee status changes, benefit elections, and required compliance forms.
- Assist with payroll audits, employee data reconciliations, and reporting to ensure data integrity.
- Support union payroll administration, including pay rate updates and payroll-related documentation.
- Coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding activities, including new hire paperwork, system updates, employment verification, and payroll setup.
- Maintain employee records and assist with HRIS updates, reporting, and compliance documentation.
- Support benefits administration and other employee-related recordkeeping activities.
- Assist with accounting-related tasks, including reviewing payroll impacts to the general ledger and supporting payroll reconciliations.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and provide administrative support for payroll, HR, and accounting projects as needed.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of payroll, accounting, or payroll administration experience.
- Understanding of payroll processes and how payroll impacts the general ledger.
- Experience maintaining employee records within an HRIS or payroll system.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle confidential information accurately.
- Accounting or finance background required; HR-only backgrounds will not be considered.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills preferred.
- Experience with payroll or ERP systems preferred.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
Compensation
$70,000–$75,000 / Annually
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
