We are looking for a Payroll Coordinator to provide hands-on payroll support for an organization in Honolulu, Hawaii. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for a payroll specialist who can quickly assess current payroll activity, investigate discrepancies, and deliver practical recommendations to strengthen accuracy and consistency. The role will focus on reviewing recent payroll cycles, evaluating how timekeeping data connects with PeopleSoft, and clearly documenting findings for stakeholders. Responsibilities:• Examine the two most recent bi-weekly payroll runs for a workforce of approximately 90 to 100 employees and verify overall accuracy.• Investigate payroll variances and exceptions, determine underlying causes, and communicate findings in a clear and organized manner.• Assess the flow of information between the timekeeping platform and PeopleSoft to identify gaps, mismatches, or processing issues.• Review spreadsheet and macro-related practices used in payroll preparation to uncover inconsistencies that may affect results.• Prepare concise documentation summarizing audit observations, payroll issues, and recommended corrective actions.• Suggest practical process enhancements that improve payroll reliability, efficiency, and internal controls.• Provide on-site payroll expertise to support issue resolution and answer operational questions during the engagement. • Experience managing full-cycle payroll from input review through final processing and reconciliation. • Background handling payroll for organizations with fewer than 100 employees. • Working knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations and pay processing requirements. • Proficiency with PeopleSoft in a payroll environment. • Ability to analyze payroll data, identify discrepancies, and trace root causes effectively. • Strong skill in documenting findings and presenting process improvement recommendations clearly. • Comfortable working on-site and contributing immediate payroll support in a fast-moving setting.
