About The Role
The Payroll & Benefits Coordinator is responsible for the administration of payroll, employee benefits, leave programs, and employee data management across Security State Bank & Trust (SSB&T). The Payroll & Benefits Coordinator serves as a key resource in the continued development, optimization, and administration of ADP Workforce Now. This position partners with leaders across the Bank to support the implementation, configuration, testing, and ongoing enhancement of payroll, benefits, organizational structure, reporting, and workflow processes to ensure ADP effectively supports SSB&T's operational and strategic objectives. Payroll Administration
- Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and timely through ADP Workforce Now.
- Audit payroll transactions, earnings, deductions, timekeeping records, and employee data to ensure accuracy.
- Review and process new hires, employee status changes, compensation adjustments, and terminations.
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries.
- Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Assist with payroll reconciliations, tax reporting, and year-end payroll processes.
Benefits Administration
- Develop, modify, test, implement, and maintain applications and technology solutions that support Bank operations.
- Administer employee benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
- Process benefit enrollments, qualifying life events, and employee terminations.
- Coordinate annual open enrollment activities and employee communications.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee benefit questions.
- Reconcile benefit enrollment data and coordinate with carriers and providers.
- Support retirement plan administration and employee benefit education efforts.
ADP Administration & System Optimization
- Serve as a primary administrator and subject matter expert for ADP Workforce Now.
- Lead and support the implementation, configuration, testing, and optimization of ADP modules and functionality.
- Assist with the setup and ongoing maintenance of organizational structures, department and unit codes, reporting relationships, workflows, security roles, earnings codes, deduction codes, and employee data configurations.
- Partner with Finance, Technology, and department leaders to ensure ADP effectively supports payroll, benefits administration, workforce reporting, budgeting, and organizational planning.
- Coordinate system testing, troubleshooting, data validation, and issue resolution related to ADP enhancements and updates.
- Develop and maintain ADP procedures, documentation, workflows, and user guides.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation, workflow enhancements, and system configuration improvements.
- Support future ADP initiatives, upgrades, implementations, integrations, and process improvement efforts.
Leave Administration & Employee Records
- Assist with the administration of FMLA, ADA accommodations, and other employee leave programs.
- Maintain employee records in accordance with Bank policies and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure personnel files, payroll records, and benefits documentation remain accurate and up-to-date.
- Prepare employment verifications and other employee-related documentation as needed.
Compliance & Reporting
- Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and organizational information.
- Support internal and external audits related to payroll, benefits, and employee records.
- Prepare payroll, benefits, workforce, and compliance-related reports.
- Monitor changes in employment regulations, payroll requirements, and benefit administration practices.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of policies, procedures, and internal controls related to payroll and benefits administration.
Employee Support
- Provide exceptional customer service to employees regarding payroll, benefits, leave administration, and employee records.
- Support onboarding and offboarding activities related to payroll and benefits enrollment.
- Assist with employee communication and education regarding benefits, payroll processes, and policy changes.
- Build strong working relationships with employees, leaders, and external partners.

Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in payroll administration, benefits administration, human resources, or a related field required.
- Demonstrated experience administering payroll and employee data through ADP Workforce Now is required.
- Experience supporting the implementation, configuration, optimization, or ongoing administration of ADP Workforce Now is required.
- Experience managing employee benefits administration, including enrollments, life events, and open enrollment required.
- Experience participating in HRIS implementations, upgrades, system conversions, or process improvement initiatives.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and any required pre-employment screening (drug testing, fingerprinting for FDIC-insured institutions).
Candidate Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as SHRM-CP, PHR, CPP, or FPC.
- Experience supporting payroll and benefits administration in a banking, financial services, or highly regulated environment.
- Strong proficiency in ADP Workforce Now, including system configuration, reporting, workflow management, and process optimization.
- Experience supporting HRIS implementations, system enhancements, or process improvement initiatives.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data reporting.
